St Wilfrids Catholic School
A major installation of VELFAC glazing has been specified for St Wilfrid's Catholic School, Crawley, by architects Curl la Tourelle. Purpose built to house 930 pupils, the school centres on a striking, curved double-storey teaching block, wrapped around a courtyard, with a double ribbon run of VELFAC windows installed along its full length. Coloured aluminium sandwich panels add vitality and variety to the external glazing. These ribbons not only enhance the dramatic exterior, but also improve the internal environment by maximising natural light and contributing to the natural ventilation system. VELFAC windows also feature in facilities such as the assembly hall and drama studio. VELFAC composite windows are frequently specified for major educational installations for their key benefits of a durable, low maintenance external aluminium finish, and warm, natural internal pine frame.
